Arizona Loyal Spotlight: Morgan Larson ’16

What brought you to the University of Arizona?

My senior year of high school, I came down to Tucson with a friend for the rivalry football game. The minute I stepped on campus and saw Old Main, I knew I had to attend the University of Arizona! Coming from a low-income family, that was really more of a wish as there was no way I could afford it. Fortunately, I later became a recipient of the Arizona Assurance Scholarship, which truly changed my life forever.

What's your best University of Arizona memory?

It is nearly impossible to pick just one… but I always loved basketball season! The thrill of waking up early on the weekend to try and reserve a seat in ZonaZoo, waiting in line to get in with fellow rowdy Wildcats, and those ridiculously addicting beefy nachos they serve inside McKale. So many fond memories!

What do you currently do for work?

I currently work for Ernst & Young as a Tax Manager in our Banking and Capital Markets group. We provide tax consulting services to banks and other financial institutions. I promise it is more interesting than it sounds!

What are your reasons for giving? What do you hope your gift will accomplish?

I give to the two programs that had a profound impact on my life. The first is the Arizona Assurance Scholarship and the second is the Dhaliwal-Reidy School of Accountancy. My hope is that my gifts will enable both of these programs to continue to change the lives of students by providing them with opportunities they might not have had otherwise. It is an investment in the future of these students, but it is also so much more than that. It is an investment in the future of our state, our economy and the betterment of our working world.
