University of Arizona Museum of Art

UAMA exterior

The UAMA holds that the imagination is central —vital, even —to our shared humanity.

In the galleries of the University of Arizona Museum of Art, we present to the viewing public bold works of creativity across artistic period and medium. From the sharply rendered portraiture of centuries past to the formal innovation of the contemporary moment, the UAMA takes visitors on a journey engaging both heart and mind. Such passage through our halls prompts dialogue around the activist role of art in society.

When you support the UAMA, you ensure that the University of Arizona maintains its place as celebrant and protector of art in all forms—as an institution fostering sustained engagement through exhibitions, educational programs and public art. You permit us to widen and deepen our archives, representing a broader swath of the imaginative spectrum by which makers have apprehended our spirit, our world.

Olivia Miller

“Thank you for your gift to the UAMA. As an organization, we are committed to highlighting the breadth and depth of artistry across space and time, a goal undertaken when Katherine Kitt, founder of the UA Art Department, organized the first exhibition on campus in 1924. Your support permits us to move forward."

—Olivia Miller, Interim Director & Curator of Exhibitions

UAMA Gallery

The UAMA counts more than 6,000 objects within an archive that dates to the Early Bronze Age. The museum not only features masters of their disciplines—sculpture, landscape, collage—but also creates space for the display of work by Tucson high school students and UArizona graduate-level practitioners. Your gift emboldens artists at every stage of their journey while preserving legacies of precision and grace.
